February Top 5
Finally starting to see some sun in Toronto, and the weather is starting to slowly cool off in Sydney after the crazy heatwave. This month I tried to focus on buying local, so most of my pics are Australian or Canadian based. Drum roll please.... here are my February pics.
1. Organic Crew
I can't find anything negative about this brand. I am so in love with it. With a base in Melbourne, they are an ethical, sustainable and organic apparel brand. They use 100% organic cotton which is fantastic.
The company is very transparent about what they do and how they do it. You can view all their info here. I'm very keen on purchasing Australian made or Canadian made products, and Organic Crew was no exception. The clothes fit really well and look/hold up amazing.
The have a few boutique stores across Australia, but also ship worldwide for those of you overseas. Although the prices are a little more than your usual pieces, you get what you pay for and it's a fashionable piece that will last. Check out Organic Crew for your next piece.
2. Canada 150 Park Pass
Calling all Canadians! In case you haven't heard the news, Parks Canada is celebrating our country's 150th birthday by giving free access to our national parks.
Go grab yourself a park pass here. You can't beat a good walk or hike during any season and there are so many locations to go to get outside.
3. Bite Lipstick
The average woman eats approximately 4-9 pounds of lipstick in her lifetime. Bite Beauty, a Toronto-based cosmetic brand has decided to help change that by creating an organic and totally edible lipstick, and the colours are amazing.
Creator Susanne Langmuir's motto is, "You eat what you put on your lips, so your lipstick should be good for you."
Bite lipstick is gluten free and leaping bunny certified. Products are sold exclusively at Sephora, or you can visit their store on Queen St W to create your own lipstick before your eyes. How cool is that!
4. Orchard St Elixers
I love a natural approach to stress and anxiety relief and the Adrenal Elixir from Orchard Street is one of my favourites. The Adrenal is made with all organic ingredients such as ashwagandha, rhodiola, tulsi and licorice.
With their range of elixirs, be your own alchemist and add to any beverage or smoothie. My favourite is to add to a matcha green tea latte. It's very comforting and delicious.
Check out their full line here. You can buy and make at home or create your own at one of their 3 cafes around Sydney.
5. Bilpin Bush Honey
I am seriously sharing Australia's best kept secret with you. This honey is un-bee-lieveable! No joke. This honey is the best honey I have ever tasted.
Bilpin Bush Honey is produced in one of the purest places on earth – Bilpin, NSW. Found at 600 metres above sea level and close to two of Australia’s largest World Heritage wilderness areas, Bilpin is where you’ll find pristine water, fertile soil and cool, clean country air. Its no wonder the bees thrive in this environment. The conditions are ideal for honey-production resulting in the delicious flavours and unrivalled texture of Bilpin Bush Honey.
