Top 5 Healthy Toronto Eats

After living in Sydney for a while, I've noticed just how lacking Toronto is for healthy restaurants..but there are a few gems when you look! I spent the majority of life in the TDot and lived in Toronto for just over 20 years. I feel like I know the city inside out. Being such a food lover I've put together with my top 5 healthy restaurants

The Beet strives to be an eco-friendly and support local farmers by providing fresh, local organic produce, whenever possible. Menu items are super healthy and whether you’re a vegetarian, vegan or omnivore, you’ll get your needs met. Check out their daily specials to try something new 

Tip: The space is decorated with reclaimed materials. 

Favourite Item: Warm BBQ Chicken Wrap on a gluten-free wrap

2. Fresh Restaurant

Fresh is one of Toronto’s main places for vegan and vegetarian "fast food". They offer eat-in and takeout and prove that a plant based diet is anything but bland. Be sure to try their weekend brunch, but the regular menu also has so many tasty options. Lineups are common, but if you are in a rush their takeout is speedy and perfectly packed so no soggy vegetables. 

Tip: Note that some meals are large portions and can be very heavy on beans, nuts or sauces. You may want to share and just be aware of food quantities.

Harvest Kitchen is one of my favourite places for a nice night out with friends or family. Their food is simple, yet delicious and healthy. They use high quality ingredients and source from local suppliers. In the summer try and grab a seat on their gorgeous rooftop patio

Tip: They own their own farm called Skinny Bar Farm by Cobourg, Ontario

Live Organic is where health food meets fast food with a plant based, organic and gluten free menu. There are 2 locations in Toronto and offer something for everyone with many meals customizable. The Liberty Village location has an all day breakfast too!

Tip: Need a dessert to take home? They have a selection of frozen treats ready to buy

Favourite Item: Italiano Bowl with Quinoa

Kupfert and Kim are a vegan, gluten-free quick service restaurant with various locations across the city. They have an awesome selection of meals, beverages & snacks. 

Tip: If you bring in your own container, you get a small discount on your meal. Otherwise they offer 100% compostable take-out material

Nourished On The Go - Oshawa, ontario

Chef Gabriella is a master of the healthy eats. Nourished on the go is dedicated to healthy, responsible and compassionate food for those busy "on the go" foodies. There is a wonderful selection of soups, salads and wraps at reasonable prices. A must do if you are in the east end.

Tip: They also do catering
